My name is Valerie Thorn, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and Certified, Clinical Trauma Professional, with Hidden Wounds Family Therapy. I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Counseling from Liberty University. I use a collaborative approach to counseling, from a strength-based perspective. I have learned from life experiences that struggles we go through make us more resilient and help us grow. It is my goal to help others by offering another perspective. It is a gift to be able to help others, come alongside them and see how God works in their healing.

Each day is a new beginning. My hope is to walk with you to heal the hurt, build yourstrengths and develop coping skills to use when you feel overwhelmed with emotions, such as sadness, anxiety, and trauma related stressors. My theoretical approach uses evidenced based practices, integrating my Christian faith, Person Centered therapy, Trauma informed Care, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral therapy as well as Solution Focused techniques.
